| Mumbai, June 1: Remember the terrible rains that flooded Mumbai on July 26, 2005? Thousands of people were left stranded on the city roads without food and drinking water for hours. But from the next time onwards such scarcity of food might not occur.
In future, if you encounter such a situation you will not have to stay empty stomach for a considerable period of time. The restaurant closest to your location will supply you with free food packets to appease your hunger.
The new city collector C.V. Oak has formulated an excellent proposal to offer food free of cost to people who are trapped in a flood-hit Mumbai city. He has invited the authorities of different NGOs and restaurants for a discussion on this issue.
He has also requested different governmental agencies for their cooperation in this regard. The Association of Hotel & Restaurant owners have also assured to cooperate with the government in supplying free food packets to the people strangled during heavy rains and floods. |
