Mumbai runway closes for an hour, flight operations affected |

| Mumbai, June 9: Mumbai airport saw an unpleasant picture today morning after the flight operations were hit due to the closure of the main runway.
Water-logging at terminal 1-C and power cut also added to the woe. As per the airport officials, there was a delay of about two hours at Mumbai airport as the runway was closed for more than an hour.
Terminal I-C, a newly constructed terminal, witnessed water-logging and power cut that made the matter worse and led to the further congestion at Mumbai airport.
Reports from the Mumbai International Airport Ltd (MIAL) reveal that the main runway was closed from 8:10 am to 9am in order to clear glass pieces of runway edge light, which were broken by a departing aircraft.
Long queue of aircraft could be seen at the runway as they awaited clearance from the ATC. |
