| Mumbai: 26/11 terror suspect Ajmal Kasab continues to give a hard time to India's finance as Mumbai has decided to spend crores of rupees on modification plans for the Mumbai monorail for the stretch along Arthur Road jail. This is a part of the security measure as the trial and captivity of the terrorist will be done here.
According to the estimate given by an engineer, building the track along the 720-metre stretch would cost anywhere between Rs 39 crore to Rs 44 crore. The track would run from Ganacharya Square along Sane Guruji Road to Arthur Road police chowky.
Although traffic arrangements and underground utilities on the six-lane road is cited as the reason to change the plans, security concerns due to Kasab's presence in the region is also touted as the major reason for building the track. |
