| New Delhi, May 4: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Shiv Sena members today demonstrated in Parliament House demanding that the government take speedy steps to resume train services in Mumbai.
Dubbing the government a failure for being unable to control the train drivers strike in Mumbai, members of the two parties staged a sit-in at gate no 1 of the parliament complex, holding placards and shouting slogans against the government.
"A prior notice of the strike was given, but the railway ministry did not take any action," said Anant Geete of the Shiv Sena. "More than 65 lakh commuters have been affected."
"Railways are the lifeline of Mumbai; the services should be resumed," BJP leader Gopinath Munde told reporters. (IANS) |
