| Mumbai, June 25: Another mishap was averted and this time it is on Mumbai's Western Railways line. As per the reports, a girder collapsed at Charni Road in South Mumbai today morning. Girder is the main device that holds a foot-over-bridge.
However, the bridge didn't collapse and no injury was reported. In a bid to avoid further worsening of the situation, trains passing through the area have been diverted to another line.
The Chief PRO of the Western Railways assured that the bridge is safe and further added that a probe will be initiated in this regard. He also admitted that it could have been a major tragedy if the bridge had fallen on a passing train. |
