Movie Review

Now, let get this straight, Wanted is not for those who take cinema tad too seriously and search for logic in every other scene and dialogue. Wanted is for the aam junta, which mostly comprise Salman Khan fans. High on entertainment quotient, the movie has every ingredient of a commercial potboiler.

If Salman Khan fans rejoiced on his comeback as an action hero, then the movie has many more reasons for them to sustain their emotions. Salman Khan is back with the macho cum deadliest performance to date. Be it his dialogue delivery or executing Prabhudeva's dancing steps or romancing our naïve heroine, attitude and machoism were the common factor.

Wanted Dead or Alive Review

Time for the critics to put a halt to their nasty outburst against Salman, because Wanted is here to stay. The series of flops should stop with Wanted, which rides solely on Salman Khan's star power. This role is an extension to his personality.

Radhe(Salman Khan) is an arrogant, shrewd and sharpshooter gangster. He works for Gani Bhai(Prakash Raj) , a cold blooded mafioso. The story is about the gang wars where every gang wants to rule Mumbai city, eliminating whoever obstructs their path. In a shocking twist of events, Radhe becomes the most wanted man in the hit list of the cops as well as gangsters. They want him dead or alive.

Wanted unfolds many cliché moments which we have seen in several masala Hindi movies earlier. Good boy reducing 10-15 goons to pulp, the naïve cum vulnerable heroine, dreaded underworld don who kills at the drop of the hat, an honest retired police commissioner father inculcating lessons of honesty and patriotism in his son, a corrupt cop, friends till we die kind of characters and so on. How adverse the situations be, heroism dominates till the end.

The release witness the exodus of the holier than thou characters and candyfloss films.

Wanted Dead or Alive Review

All the applause for this commercial entertainer goes to the Director and Choreographer of the movie, Prabhudeva. He has presented Salman Khan in a total novel avatar. Wanted has a rustic appeal to it. Every scene is adrenaline thumping, every stunt is neatly executed, every chase keep you at the edge of your seat.

Since Wanted is an action film, action scenes before the interval and the climax, deserves a special mention. The fans will surely miss the count on number of heartbeats they have skipped and would be bewitched with widely open eyes and thumping heartbeats.

Wanted, not to miss, has few comic moments and romantic sequences. Mahesh Manjrekar and Prakash Raj in their negative roles generate laughter effortlessly with their sarcastic remarks. The pair of Salman and Ayesha looks cute and the romantic scenes did not look redundant in the action oriented film. Dialogues deserve whistles and claps. Cinematography is commendable.

Music is average except 'Love me baby' which is stylish in every way and Jalwa' where Anil Kapoor, Govinda, Prabhudeva and Salman spells lots of Jalwa.

Talking about the flaws, the plot is wafer thin sans any novelty. It gets a little monotonous in the second half, because of the extra songs pumped in. But nonetheless it manages to grab your attention once more with the sudden twist in the plot.

Talking about the supporting characters, a star like Vinod Khanna deserved more footage. Mahesh Manjrekar and Prakash Rao are excellent. They make the negative characters come alive. Govind Namdeo is watchable in his small yet important role.

All in all, Wanted, is for the masses for two reason, one, it stars the hero of the masses, Salman Khan and two, the complete focus is on entertainment.

Salman Khan's latest macho avatar in Wanted will surely leave his fans wanting for more...
