Movie Review (Posted on: Sept 07, 2009)
Aagey Se Right is a flick which neither goes right nor left, but remains stagnant. In short, things did not fall in the 'Right' place.
The movie was funny in parts but what went wrong is its weak storyline. The concept was new and wacky, as the story concentrates on a lost pistol. Such wacky concepts are a fad in Bollywood these days. Quick Gun Murugun, is the classic example to support to support the above mentioned statement

Aagey Se Right would have been a fun riot if the director had solely concentrated on the main characters, Shreyas Talpade, a cop who loses his gun and Kay Kay Menon, a terrorist who loses his heart. But instead he gave undue focus on the supporting characters, which only contributed in dragging the plot to a level of monotony .
Aagey Se Right is a film which covers five days of agitation, anarchy and trouble in the life of a cop and a terrorist. During a series of unpredictable occurrences, which are beyond their control, their world collide.
Coming to the screenplay, it simply didn't gel with the witty concept. There were many awkward situations such as Kay Kay's change of heart, sudden and weird. Shehnaz Treasurywala's undefined character, which sees her dancing in the bar, at police function and visiting producers for assignments. Except a good effort by Shreyas Talpade, all other characters went haywire.

Shreyas Talpade does a great job, garnished with an upbeat comic timings. Vijay Maurya gives a stupendous performance but Kay Kay's character was not well etched. His character in the movie went completely wasted. The actresses Mahi Gill and Shehnaz Treasurywala did not contribute much to the plot.
While Rakesh Bedi and Bharti Achrekar were convincing in their respective roles, performances of Shiv Pandit and Shruti Seth were nowhere near to good.
The soundtracks of Aagey Se Right are average. The album has a couple of songs which manage to make an impression. The tracks are kept strictly situational but do not serve much of a purpose. As far as the comic scenes are concerned, they depict tremendous comic sense of the director but he somewhere went 'directionless' in implementing the comic flavour in a sustained manner.
Final word, watch it only for Shreyas, his impeccable comic timings and some brainless fun!
