Life takes you on a ride through several phases and that uncertainty of the journey itself rekindles your urge to live and love your life. Kunal Deshmukh’s directorial venture Tum Mile adheres to this idea. Set against the backdrop of cataclysmic Mumbai flood in July 2005, this Emraan Hashmi and Soha Ali Khan starrer portrays the different facets of present and past.
Ali Taha(Emraan Hashmi) and Sanjana (Soha Ali Khan) meet on a stormy night in a Mumbai street after a hiatus of six long years. It was six years ago when the two lovers parted ways as their relationship didn’t work out and it is the natural calamity that brings them together once again.
The day 26th July, 2005 may have brought impending doom on many of the Mumbaikars, but for these two ex-lovers, it was a kind of resurrection, a clarion call for a different beginning. The story recollects the past liaison between Ali and Sanjana and etches out the gradual development of a relationship between two individuals who are poles apart. They celebrated their differences till the time when the complexities turned irreconcilable leading to misery and unavoidable separation.
The story returns to its present when the ex-lovers are compelled take refuge under one roof. It was the darkest hours for Mumbai and a time for introspection for the lovers who get another chance to know each other in the time of crisis. Both had moved on in their life but that very night of terror brought before them a moment of unison and renewed bonding.
Music of Tum Mile has been composed by director Pritam Chakraborty and he is aided by a band of singers including the likes of Neeraj Shridhar, K K, Mohit Chauhan. Kumaar and Sayeed Qadri have penned the lyrics for the songs. Produced by Mahesh Bhatt, this Romantic venture is expected to appeal its audience with director Kunal Deshmukh juxtaposing the turbulent nature outside and the inner turbulence raging within the two individuals.
