A novel theme and a change in taste has often earned kudos in film industry and Satish Kaushik's upcoming directorial venture Tere Sang is expected to be an extension of this custom. Being gifted with a naturally comic screen presence, Satish Kaushik now tries his hand at a comedy. The movie Tere Sang is about two youngsters Maahi and Kabir. While Maahi ( played by the debut actress Sheena Shahabai) plays a lively 15 year old Delhi girl who enjoys an affluent lifestyle, Kabir (donned by Ruslaan Mumtaz) on the flip side is a 17 year old boy who is aspiring yet clueless and rebellious yet illogically demanding. He hails from a not so well-to-do family.

The two youngsters Maahi and Kabir become friends and it did not take long for them to become intimate. The real crisis in the movie comes in the form of lost innocence. The young couple were on a camping trip on New Year's Eve, when they got tipsy and gave in to their carnal desires with Maahi getting pregnant. After establishing its theme of an underage love and teenage pregnancy, the story moves on to touch an essential aspect of human relationship - accepting one's mistakes & owning up to it.

Tagging it as a comic yet a sensible film, director Satish Kaushik asserted that Tere Sang has something more to it than just feel-good kind of a love story. The protagonists of the story go through a journey that begets experience. Both Mahi and Kabir represent the contemporary youth, who face similar circumstances at some point of time. Hailing Sheena as a fabulous actor, Satish admired her for playing a complex role of an unmarried mother. A lot is expected from Sheena, the daughter of yesteryears' actress Sadhna, who is till remembered for her role in 'Nadiya Ke Paar'.

This cute romantic story exhibits the experience of two kids, perhaps bit too young to comprehend the meaning of real love and end up making love to each other. It will be interesting to watch how the young couple face the consequences together.

Rajat Kapoor and Neena Gupta play Maahi's parents. Rajat is a reputed criminal lawyer, who is constantly on the move with his wife. Satish Kaushik plays a happy-go-lucky father of Kabir. With a blend of inexperienced and established actors in the movie and a special appearance of Anupam Kher, we may look forward to find Tere Sang conveying its message in a most realistic manner possible. Besides evoking humour, the movie is expected to send across the message of tackling teenage pregnancy, which is a growing social issue plaguing contemporary Indian society. Shot extensively in Delhi, where Satish Kaushik's heart is, extra care is taken to keep the movie attached with reality. Sameer's lyrics and music by Sachin-Jigar have spun some good scores.
