Future plans? Come'on! No one asked me that I had to have a plan, so I never contemplated one! Yes, that's what Siddharth Mehra aka Sid for you. An unmotivated college pass out who spends most of his time in hanging with his friends, watching TV, hogging, sleeping and day dreaming. For him the world would be a much better place to live if things went in a slow and relaxing mode. His world is superfluous and carefree sans any responsibilities. His friends, his camera, his X-box 360 and his car are his most important possessions.

Though he hardly communicates with his mother, who has three obsessions: watching saas-bahu serials, nagging him, and trying to learn English, Sid's life revolves around his two best buddies Rishi and Laxmi. He takes his dad's hard earned money for granted but despite this he is honest, lovable, sweet, humorous and a loyal buddy.

Sid's life undergoes an array of alterations after he meets an ambitious, well-read and self motivated writer from Calcutta, Aisha Bannerjee, who is completely in love with Mumbai. She comes to the city to envisage her dream of becoming a writer. Aisha is everything what Sid isn't and learns about the contrasting personalities on the very first day she meets him, despite this Sid becomes his first buddy in the city.

Aisha settles in Mumbai slowly and steadily with the help of his new found buddy and his gang. Endless hours are spend in long drives, late night parties and doing nothing fruitful. Time flies by for Sid until a succession of circumstances force him to take a hard look at himself and his life. Its time for some serious responsibilities.

Directed by Ayan Mukherjee, Kajol's cousin, the debutant director describes WUS as a 'coming of age meets a slice of life' kind of movie. The film has an unusual pair of Ranbir Kapoor, a young handsome man and an older not-so-good-looking woman, Konkona Sen Sharma.

The producer of the film Karan Johar explains this unusual pairing. He reportedly said, "I thought that if we cast the film in a conventional manner, then it won't have that special 'X' factor which was so much required for Sid's world. Konkona is unusual and quite unconventional and this is what makes her love story with Ranbir real and honest.”

"The film was written in such a manner that the woman out there shouldn't have belonged to the conventional prototype leading lady characterization that one often sees. Frankly, I don't know of many actresses who would have brought on screen the kind of traits that Ayesha possesses," he added.

Talking about the musical score, the combination of Karan Johar, Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy, Javed Akhtar gives one a plenty of reasons to have high hopes. One can predict for sure that it would be a distinctive album. It may not be among the best grabbers in music stores but should positively be in sync with the going-ons.

The tracks which stand out are 'Iktara', a soft number exploring the story of two individuals steadily getting to know each other; 'Kya Karoon? ', a fresh and lively track with massive youth appeal and the zingy title song 'Wake Up Sid'.
