Kambakkht Ishq is the predicted to be season's most romantic flick. It scrutinizes the relationship between two individuals who are poles apart from each other as two sides of the magnet. He splurge money on women and parties. Though he loves women but dislikes commitment and marriage, the words which are non-existent in his dictionary of life.
On the other hand, there is Simrita Rai, played by Kareena Kapoor, who is a staunch feminist and does not find the need to have a man in her life. She is a part time super model and an aspiring surgeon. With great career and the experience, that she has derived, she feels that men are big time losers and not worth any effort. “There is no such thing as love”, is the mantra of her life. She can embarrass any arrogant male with her derisive tongue and corrosive wit.

The twist in their beautiful lives comes when, these two people who completely abhor each other meet at the marriage of Kamini and Lucky. Kamini(Amrita Arora), is Simrita's best friend whereas, Lucky(Aftab Shivdasani) is Viraj's younger brother. Lucky, in contrary to his brother, is a lovable, sensitive and genuine guy. He is overtly protected by his brother and is not hardcore practical as Viraj is.

Kamini, is one of the sought after, lingerie models, but is very innocent and crave for a man who loves her the most. For her life is all about being with a loving husband, having cute kids and owing a white picket fence house. Both Viraj and Simrita are violently against their marriage and are curious to stop it. In this process, accidents happen as they both are thrown into most weirdest of situations. Until one day, they encounter a dramatic situation which attach the fate of both the protagonists, in a way that both of them could have never hallucinated in their weirdest dreams. This fuels the clash of the gender. So, watch out for the kicks and kisses as the battle of the sexes begins...
Three Hollywood stars Sylvester Stallone, Denise Richards and Brandon Routh play a special cameo in the movie. This is the seventh time that both Akshay and Kareena are paired together. Akshay's stunts are predicted to be the USP of the movie. He has been quoted saying that, this is the first time in his career he has done this kind of a role. For him Kambakkht Ishq is one of his best romantic film ever. While Kareena Kapoor, does not relate to her character, as Simrita is very different from what she actually is. She will be seen donning the classic and understated look in the film.

Kambakkht Ishq is the biggest ever movie to be released in 2009, so expectations to be sky high is natural. With such huge names and “Bollywood meets Hollywood” theme, the film has an upbeat commercial masala appeal. Ditto with the music of the film. The first track, “Om Mangalam”, is a special song composed and performed by RDB, with a portion of “shlok”, created by Anu Malek. “Lakh Lakh”, song by Neeraj Shridhar, who has been the voice of Akshay for many chartbusters. It has a tinge of Bhangra flavor in it and is visually attractive. “Bebo”, has Anu Malik and Alisha Chinai coming together and creating a naughty and seductive number. It has a club mix version to it and has all qualities to become an instant hit amongst the lounge crowd.

“Kambakkht Ishq”, the title track, is sung by KK in high vocal, with Sunidhi Chauhan joining him. An extremely catchy number, high on fun quotient. It also has a remix version to it. “Kyun”, a mushy number, written by Javed Akhtar and sung by Shaan and Shreya Ghoshal, brings a romantic feel to the album. “Welcome to Hollywood”, an English track, is composed by Aaum and Sulaiman Merchant and Karsh Kale and Anushka Manchanda have lend their voices. Instead of not so ballistic vocal, the track makes full on impact with its high on attitude quotient.
