Director Prakash Jha has created a niche for himself with socio-political films and he is back again with another of that sorts with ‘Rajneeti’. The title of the film itself is self-explanatory and that leaves no scope for doubt about the theme. The director of Gangaajal fame roped in some of the best actors of the Bollywood community to pull up this mega film.

Like most films with a heavy political wrapping, Rajneeti is touted to have a layered plot peeling off at various levels. Manoj Bajpai, who plays Veerendra Pratap in the film, finds his character’s resemblance with Duryodhana (from the Hindu epic Mahabharata). He is expected to play a domineering role in this political thriller as he is the one who does not like to let things go easily. Ajay Devgn, another seasoned actor who had his tryst with political films in the past, will also be seen donning the role of a stalwart from the political fraternity.

After a long hiatus of almost five years, Aparna Sen, the critically acclaimed filmmaker, is back with her another venture. The Japanese Wife is the first of its kind for a plethora of reasons. Besides being the first Sen Film that is based on someone else’s story, the Japanese Wife is also her first film shot in a foreign locale. Moreover, her film has a foreign actress for the first time.

With pivotal roles being etched by Rahul Bose (Snehmoy), the Japanese actress Chigusa Takaku (Miyagi), and Raima Sen (Sandhya), the film narrates a story of pen friends who continue to reciprocate through letters. Farhan Akhtar the actor is back again after doling out two successive hit films from his bag. The "Rock On" star may once again find his "Luck By Chance" with his upcoming film. Written and directed by Vijay Lalwani, Karthik Calling Karthik is also another major break for the recent entrant in the Tinsel town, Deepika Padukone.
