World's youngest director, Kishan New Delhi: After booking his name as the youngest filmmaker in the Guinness Book of Records, 12 yr old Master Kishna is ready for the release of his first Hindi film 'Born in India', a remake of his Kannada film C/O Footpath. The movie is inspired from the life of Thomas Alva Edison, Michael Faraday and former Indian President APJ Abdul Kalam. The little director was recently in the Capital to bag the National Film Award. Headlinesindia reporter caught the young filmmaker to know his experiences and on going journey in the film industry. Excerpts:
Anwar Hussein  Kishan, Congratulations for winning the National Film Award. How does it feel like being on the top of the world?
Kishan: Thank you so much. It's an honour to have received this award.
Anwar Hussein  At such a young age how did you thought of getting into direction?
Kishan: I have been acting in films since I was 3 years old. Since then I have developed interest in the technical aspects of film making. On the sets I used to ask the camera person about the functioning of the cameras and different camera angles. I even used to gather information about the types of lights used in production. This gradually gave born to a filmmaker in me.
Anwar Hussein  Tell us something about 'Born in India'.
Kishan: The film is about a journey of a boy from slum who goes through hardships and struggles to become a successful man in life. And in this journey he is helped by a kind teacher and an NRI.
Anwar Hussein  Who all are your favorite directors?
Kishan: I admire Kannada film director D Rajendra Babu and Om Sai Prakash.
Anwar Hussein  What are your hobbies?
Kishan: I read a lot and love to explore technical aspects of film making.
Anwar Hussein  What do you take more seriously, Adulation or Criticism?
Kishan: I take criticism more seriously because it helps you learn from your mistakes.
