| I make zero effort to look beautiful: Sherlyn Chopra |

The hot and sizzling Sherlyn Chopra was in the Capital to release her
second album titled, 'Dard-E-Sherlyn'. Hailing from Hyderabad, she is
increasingly turning out to be an 'outrageous package' of boldness and
glamour. The lady is paired opposite Shawar Ali in her new album which is
a tribute to legendry actress Hema Malini. The sexy siren of yesteryears,
Zeenat Aman and Provoked fame director Jagmohan Mundra were the guests of
honour of the gala music event. With T-series backing her up, this album
we are sure will rock the young generation. Headlines India correspondent
Kriti Verma spoke to the athletic damsel about her life, new album and
future projects. Excerpts:

 What kind of dard (pain) are you talking about in your new album? |
| Sherlyn: The dard I am talking about is the one which has no cure. It's
the kind that makes you yearn to belong to someone special. It's something
when you don't feel like eating, sleeping or doing anything.

| What inspired you to do this album?
|
| Sherlyn: Shahrukh Khan's Dard-E-Disco in his film 'Om Shanti Om' inspired
me to do this album. |
| In an age where more and more young girls are coming with an oomph factor, do you think it's easy to make a space for yourself? |
| Sherlyn: I agree that there is a lot of young potential coming up who love
to bare and look sexy, but I don't see them as a threat. It's just that I
have to be better than all of them. Everyday the definition of excellence
changes and so I have to be 'Wow' all the time. |
| What efforts do you put in to look beautiful?

| Sherlyn: I make zero effort to look beautiful. |
| We have heard that the censor board have nearly cut 19 shots from your album. What do you think the reason could have been? |
| Sherlyn: I have been working on this album from past four months and it
had been a painful experience for me. On my every visit to the studio I
was asked to cut one or the other visual. Quite a number of scenes have
been cut. Though on the other hand, I am happy becuase earlier it was for
adults and now it is open to even kids. Thanks to all those cuts, I will
have young fans now. |
| Is Sherlyn Chopra angry? |
| Sherlyn: Yes obviously. I never wanted my album to be a bachcha stuff. I
worked really hard on it and my target audience was youth, not kids. |
| Your album is a tribute to legendry actress Hema Malini, so why isn't she present on this gala music event? |
| Sherlyn: Actually she is not too happy to see the video. I read an
interview where she has said that the emotions I have portrayed in this
album are not up to mark and if she would get time, she would love to
teach me how to express and get emotions. But I would like to tell Hemaji
that this remix is made in 21st century though it is from that era, and
therefore the differences are obvious. I am just being honest in my
performance. |
| Why did you choose Hemaji's song only? |
| Sherlyn: I wanted a few gripping lines which would speak about my unspoken
'dard'. Therefore, I chose Hemaji's dard song from the film Dus Numbri
sung by Asha Bhonsleji. Also, that song was untouched till now and I
thought to touch it by making its remix. |
| How does it feel to get support of eternally hot Zeenat Aman? |
| Sherlyn: It feels great to see her supporting me. I always wanted to
invite Zeenatji as my guest of honour and today my dream has come true. I
was on cloud nine when she accepted my invitation. Each time I see her, I
am like 'Wow'! Also, she liked my work in the video. She feels that I have
the potential to do what she did in her time. She is confident that I will
soon make a place for myself in Bollywood. |
| Your take on comparisons with Mallika Sherawat?

| Sherlyn: I would never want to compete with Mallika Sherawat. I adore her. There is definitely no competion with her. |
| Your take on constant comparisons with the item girl Rakhi Sawant? |
| Sherlyn: I would like to ask media, what common do you see in both of us.
How can you compare Mercedes with Nano. This comparison is senseless. And
still if you make comparisons, you are nothing less than foolish. |
| With so much competition, how do you plan to gain a foothold in the film industry? |
| Sherlyn: I am grooming myself and plan to carve a niche in the industry as
a performer. Also, I have no godfather in the industry but have incredible
faith in Almighty God and myself. I am all set to face challenges. |
| What are your upcoming projects? |
| Sherlyn: I will be seen in Yash Chopra's next, starring Shahid Kapur and
Rani Mukherjee to be directed by Anurag Singh. Also, there is big project
lined up for me with a great role. I wish I could tell you something about
the same but my lips are sealed till I get the authority from the
production house. |
| Where do you see yourself five years down the line? |
| Sherlyn: I see myself acting in atleast 10 films and recieving at least one award. |
