| Kolkata: The Indians on Facebook are protesting and that is not without a cause. The popular Farmville game, which allows the users to play farmer and mark their territory with the national
flags, has come under scanner with thousands of Indians complaining about the absence of India's Tricolour Flag.
The Indian users of Facebook are annoyed with the fact that they cannot play under their own flag although the game has a provision of national flags for several other countries, including the US, the UK, Spain, Italy, Ireland and even several smaller nations.
It is to be noted that Indian users contribute a bulk share of Facebook's followers and the wave of protest was very much evident till yesterday evening with more than 10,000 followers demanding the reason why India's national flag was missing.
This has perhaps taken the shape of a movement, even though it is in the virtual world. Complaints have been pouring in for the past few days with number of complaints reaching 1,000 everyday.
Farmville allows the Facebook users to own a virtual plot of farmland, sow seeds, harvest, and gather rewards to proceed to the next level. |
