Indian celebrities have joined the Twitter bandwagon. It took them some time, but they have really taken a liking to it. You can now easily follow Bollywood celebrities on Twitter. Indian minister and former UN Under-Secretary General Shashi Tharoor (@shashitharoor), perhaps inspired by Barack Obama's success on Twitter, has been a regular micro-blogger too.
One celebrity who has impressed everyone with her tweeting is Gul Panag (@gulpanag). The Bollywood actress makes an honest effort to respond to every query of her followers. Gul recently shared some photographs from her grandfather's 94th birthday celebrations on Twitter. An avid photoblogger, she recently shifted to TwitSnaps.com as her preferred photoshare application on Twitter. Mallika Sherawat and Priyanka Chopra (unverified) are the other two Bollywood stars on Twitter.
Amitabh Bachchan and Aamir Khan took to blogging to connect to their fans (Big B refers to the fans of his blog as EF- extended family). But Twitter is the new fad amongst celebrities, and we can except many more Bollywood stars, politicians, and maybe cricketers too, to start tweeting their way to glory. Until then, you can follow and interact with the Indian celebs who are already on Twitter. Happy tweeting! |
