First India conference to explore Twitter's Indianness |

| New Delhi: For the first time a national conference on Twitter will be hosted in New Delhi on 9th Jan, 2010. Eminent panelist from important walks of life will come together to find an answer to the question if Twitter is Indian in Character? Rising popularity of Twitter and growing number of Indian users naturally gives rise to the above question. The initiative to hold a national conference on Twitter is driven by the urge to learn from the great minds how social media is growing in leaps and bounds.
IndiaTC January Meetup will be an interactive session organised by Twitsnaps.com - a photosharing application on Twitter. The event will start with a short introduction of the panelists, followed by panel discussion on the topic - "Is Twitter Indian in character?"
Mr Simarprit Singh, founder TwitSnaps.com, and an Internet industry veteran is among the eminent panelists of this much awaited Twitter event in India.
Twitter conference is expected to be a productive work out owing to the honourable presence of big names from media and internet industry. Kanchan Gupta, - Associate Editor of the Daily Pioneer and a columnist, is among the panelists who will be sharing his opinion on the above mentioned topic. He is also remembered, especially by the Twitter users as it was during a rather harmless conversation with him that Shashi Tharoor tweeted the much talked about "cattle class" remark.
Saad Akhtar, who runs Flyyoufools.com, a popular Indian webcomic, will grace the event with his valuable inputs on Indianness of Twitter. He will be accompanied by Pramit J Nathan who heads Idea to Impact, a branding consultancy. He is also the Director at Creative Inc advertising firm. Pramit J Nathan specializes in branding and perception management and he admits his fascination for social media. Presently, he is one of the leading Indian Twitterers with a close to 85,000 followers under his name.
The Twitter conference will also witness participation of Sidin Vadukut, Managing Editor, Livemint.com at HT Media Ltd. Being a columnist and an avid blogger, he is expected to share his experience on Twitter and how much this social networking site is Indian in spirit. Lydia Polgreen, South Asia correspondent for New York Times, is another panelist which everyone will look forward to listen to. Her more than a year's experience on Twitter and media perspective will definitely be of some aid for drawing a hypothesis on the given topic.
The Twitter conference, which is scheduled to take place between 2 pm and 6 pm, will be moderated by K.N. Ajit Narayan, a voracious Twitterer who is directly associated with Twitsnaps.com and online news portal HeadlinesIndia.com.
