It is time for snowballs, decorated pine trees, gifts and a zealous Christmas celebration. The whole world seems to be enjoying this much-awaited festival, and that is reflected on the Twitter community. Christmas and Happy Holidays have been the trending topic of this social networking site for more than a week now as the Twitterers continue to pour in their messages and well wishes with enough zeal and warmth.

Even the celebrities on Twitter have been exchanging Christmas wishes with their friends and their large followers' base. Among the Bollywood celebrities on Twitter, actress Priyanka Chopra wished her followers and tweeted on how she is "full of cheer n happiness" on Christmas morning and even what she got as a Christmas gift from her parents. Another popular personality in Indian film industry, Karan Johar, also followed soon with his motivating wishes for the tweeple. He tweets, "all is well in the world and with the movies...be an idiot on the weekend!!!"

Bollywood actress and undoubtedly one of the most popular Indian faces on Twitter, Gul Panag, who is on a 10 day road trip to enjoy 'nature watching", did not miss the chance to wish her followers a Happy X-mas.

Eminent journalist and 'chronicler' Pritish Nandy tweeted with a tincture of nostalgia as he wished "we will soon get back to old times when everyone celebrated every festival irrespective of which faith it belonged to." His Christmas message was "to bring us together in hope, joy and merriment, to celebrate the passing of a year and look ahead."

Shashi Tharoor, Indian Minister of State for External Affairs, who is currently on a visit to Chittorgarh Fort, was among the early Twitterers to send across his greetings to his more than half a million followers. He wished "a joyous Christmas and a very Happy New Year filled with peace, prosperity & personal fulfillment." Shreya Ghosal, a famed singer and a regular twitterer came up with a nice idea of asking gift from Santa Claus as she tweets, "I want Santa ji to destroy the whole concept of calories.."

The Christmas mood, which has set in few days back, is still ruling the Twitter fraternity as both the celebrities and non-celebrities alike continue to usher in the spirit of festivity.
