| Kolkata: A product of London School of Fashion, designer Mandira Wirk once again created furore as her collection were displayed on the fourth day of the second season of Kolkata Fashion Week. The glamour quotient of the occasion escalated as Sophie Chowdhury walked into the ramp flaunting her collections.
Calling her label 'Mandira' she made a foray into high profile Indian couture stores. Having honed her skills in the art of fashion design from the international malls of London, Mandira blended two domains to perfection.
Fusion being her mainstay, her clothes exudes class and wearability that is reflected in her easy silhouettes, minimal embroideries in straight and structured cuts.
The form of her collection is simple, and the structure easy with straight cuts, fall, finesse, and style creating timeless outfits. What sets her different from other designers is her vision. Mandira's designs suit the millennium- working woman and man.
Her creations are symbols of subtlety and many of her designs bear the forte of being seamless in their style. Ensembles that effortlessly last you from dawn to dusk. They can bear the strain the strains of long working hours and sensuously blend into the evening with an addition of a scarf or a broach. Aptly so, Mandira's collection represents an attempt to make the working woman appear fresh and a force to reckon with, not just during the working hour, but even after a long day at work.
Her clothes have the simplicity of a genius, with attention to every meticulous details - individual statements of style, emulated by all.
