An Akash Choyal creation
New Delhi: Art is a way of giving a smooth flow to the mental and emotional outbursts of human beings and Akash Choyal, an artist from Rajasthan, has chosen the same path that he inherited from his father. "I think that art is an exhibition of one's feeling. For me it is not the work but the feelings behind the work which is most important and my work depicts my feelings," says the young artist.

It took eight long years for Akash to put up his first show, 'The Arena' in the metropolis. The unique aspect of Choyal's work, which is being exhibited at the Dhoomimal Art Centre in New Delhi, is its 3D nature. "Well, I have started with 3D before moving to sculpture making. 3D is my base and from there only I get all these ideas," nodded Akash.

At one look it would appear to be mere pencil sketches by a kid on a wall, but a close observation reveals the inner world of magic and fantasy that the story teller presents to us with paint and brush. Basically, these can be found in his ink drawings on fiber structure cast in white.

Each artwork is very sensitive, intuitive, imaginative and full of manual dexterity. The magic is created when artworks are observed closely and then magnified. Another unique feature of his creativity is that he uses brushes that are used in Rajasthani traditional miniature paintings. He portrays snakes, cars, auto, motor bikes, fish, boat, elephant and more. His specialty is that he enjoys a strong presence of a man and a woman in his works and manages them to act for his imagination.

This exhibition of Akash can also be seen as an attempt to enrich the contemporary youth art. Apart form those sculptures which are being exhibited till 23rd of this month, two videos are also installed that proves his wide range of expression and establishes him as an artist who paints, sculpts, acts and still remains silent to listen to others.
