New Delhi, July 22: Indian External Affairs Minister S.M. Krishna's comments that Home Secretary G.K. Pillai had "ill-timed" his remarks on the ISI's role in the 26/11 attack have found support from Pakistani Interior Minister Rehman Malik, who tweeted his thank you to New Delhi for "creating positivity".

"We appreciate PM India & Home Minister India for advising their aides nt 2 give negative statements against Pak, Thanks 4 creating positivity," Rehman tweeted on the microblogging networking site.

In an interview to TV networks Wednesday, Krishna backed Pillai's remarks but ticked him off for making them on the eve of the foreign minister-level talks in Islamabad July 15.

Krishna told the media that "it would have been wiser if that statement had not been made just on the eve of my visit".

After his talks with Krishna in Islamabad on July 15, Qureshi had said at a joint press conference that the remarks made by India's home secretary were "uncalled for" when a journalist asked him about Pakistan's action against Hafiz Saeed, the suspected mastermind of the Mumbai attack. (IANS)
