Exiles discussing ways to carry forward talks with China |

| Dharamsala, June 8: A two-day meeting of Tibetan exiles took place here today to discuss ways to carry forward the dialogue process with the Chinese to solve the Tibetan issue.
Samdhong Rinpoche, the prime minister of the Tibetan government-in-exile, presided over the meeting.
China and the Dalai Lamas envoys have held nine rounds of talks since 2002 to try and find a solution to the Tibetan issue. But no major breakthrough has been achieved.
Thubten Samphel, spokesperson for the Tibetan government-in-exile, told the media that issues raised by the Chinese during the last round of talks held in Beijing on Jan 26-31 were discussed.
More than 100,000 Tibetans live in exile in India. The Dalai Lama fled Tibet in 1959 and came to India. His government-in-exile is headquartered in Dharamsala. (IANS) |
