| Islamabad: In an unexpected remark made by Pakistan Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi, he claimed that India ultimately agreed to resume bilateral talks since Pakistan did not give in to their pressure.
While addressing a gathering in Multan on Sunday Qureshi was found boasting of forcing India to resume bilateral dialogue and decide on engaging in discussion. Highlighting the fact that India had once threatened to break all ties with Pakistan, Qureshi added that Pakistan has never knelt down before India and continued to remain determined in its stance.
It was a week back that Qureshi had complained that India is unwilling to resume dialogue and threatened that Pakistan may approach the United Nation if India continues to show its reluctance to talk.
However, both India and Pakistan have agreed to take necessary measures to restore the severed ties between the two nations post the Mumbai terror attacks. The foreign secretaries of the two countries are slated to meet later this month as a part of a confidence building procedure. |
