Gandhinagar: Seven Pakistani fishermen were picked up by Border Security Force (BSF) officials after their fishing craft intruded into Indian coastal waters, police said here on Wednesday.

The Pakistani fishing craft Al Siddique entered into Indian coastal waters late on Tuesday night and was intercepted by the Border Security Force (BSF) almost from the mouth of the Kori creek.

The seven people were handed over to the local police which have moved them to the joint interrogation centre in Bhuj, the district headquarters of Kutch, for interrogation by the various security agencies.

There is considerable concern over the fact that the Pakistani fishing craft managed to enter through the various layers of the coastal security that have been laid out in Kutch waters bordering Pakistan after the Mumbai attack. A tonne load of fish was also seized from the craft. (IANS)
