Lahore: Lashkar-e-Taiba chief Haafiz Saeed, accused by India of masterminding the 2008 Mumbai terror attacks, on Friday in an open rally threatened to launch "jihad to liberate Kashmir". Saeed, who now heads the banned Jama'at-ud-Daawa, the frontal charity organisation of the LeT, was addressing a gathering of thousands of people at the Mall Road in this Pakistani city to mark 'Kashmir Solidarity Day'. He said he was not against the talks between India and Pakistan but asked the two countries to solve the Kashmir issue.

"We are not against composite dialogue. I ask (Indian Home Minister P.) Chidambaram to first hold talks with me. I have a solid solution to all the problems between India and Pakistan," he said.

"The only solution", he said, "is liberate Kashmir. Otherwise the option of jehad is open for us."

Going a step further, Saeed also warned that liberation of the southern city of Hyderabad was also on his agenda. (IANS)
