Islamabad: Pakistan on Monday rejected Indian allegations of sponsoring terrorism, saying New Delhi was out of tune with the realities of today. Pakistan "firmly rejects the assertions of state-sponsored terrorism and invites India to a deep introspection of its own policies and conduct, notably in Jammu and Kashmir", Foreign Office spokesman Abdul Basit said. "India sadly remains out of tune with the realities of today," media quoted him as saying.

Basit said Indian Foreign Secretary Nirupama Rao's remarks against Pakistan again revealed that New Delhi's policies "only vitiates the atmosphere, darkens the horizon and dampens hopes for peace and tranquility in South Asia".

Rao said on Sunday that Pakistan "needs to do much more" to address India's concerns over continuing cross-border terrorism if it desired a dialogue between the two countries.

"Terrorism directed against India continues from territory under Pakistan control and from Pakistan," Rao told the media. (IANS)
