Washington: India made an open declaration on Monday regarding their future course of action in its relation with Pakistan. While addressing a Washington-based think-tank, India's Foreign Secretary Nirupama Rao ruled out any resumption of dialogue with Pakistan unless the later assures India that terrorism can be brought under control by its government. Rao further added that Pakistan's claim of not being in a position to guarantee no such terrorist attack itself is a major hurdle between the two nations. She made it clear that it is unexpected on India's part to resume composite dialogue in such circumstances.
She went to explain that India does not have any hostile plans against Pakistan since it wants it to be a stable country. However, she added that India will remain watchful about its internal and external security.
Rao pointed out the fact that India had put several efforts to discuss the pending issues with Pakistan but it has not received a ready response from the later. |
