| New Delhi: The Indian government has arranged a special aircraft to bring back Minister of Overseas Indian Affairs Vayalar Ravi, who was injured in a car accident in Liberia.
A government press release said that Ravi will be carried on the aircraft, which will have on-board medical support and reach Chennai on Wednesday late night.
Ravi had a road accident in Liberia and was initially treated at John F. Kennedy Hospital in Monrovia. He was then air-lifted to Abidjan in Ivory Coast by the Liberian government for further treatment at PISAM Hospital.
"The minister had a miraculous escape and there was no major injury. The minister's health is stable and he is recovering well," the release added.
Ravi was on a trip to Ghana, Tanzania, Kenya, Liberia and Nigeria from Jan 29 to Feb 6. (IANS) |
