Meira Kumar to visit Hungary, Luxembourg

New Delhi, June 5: Lok Sabha Speaker Meira Kumar will lead a parliamentary delegation to Hungary from June 7-10 and Luxembourg from June 10-13.

The delegation includes MPs Naresh Gujral, Ganesh Singh, Mohammad Shafi, Davidson J. Helen, P.L. Punia, N. Gowda Cheluvaraya Swamy, Lok Sabha Secretary General P.D.T. Achary and other senior parliament officials.

"In Hungary, the delegation would meet Hungarian President Laszlo Solyom, Prime Minister Viktor Orban, and speaker of the Hungarian National Assembly Pal Schmitt," a release issued by the Lok Sabha Secretariat said here Saturday.

"The Lok Sabha speaker will lay wreath at the statue of Rabindranath Tagore at Balatonfured and plant a sapling at the Tagore Memorial Park," it said.

In Luxembourg, the delegation will meet head of the state Henri, the Grand Duke of Luxembourg; Prime Minister Jean-Claude Juncker and other top government officials.

The delegation would have a joint meeting with the members of the Bureau and the Foreign Affairs Committee and the Committee on Foreign and European Affairs, Defence, Cooperation and Immigration, the release said.

"The delegation will have wide-ranging discussions on issues of international and bilateral importance," it added. (IANS)
