Indonesian Ambassador calls on Delhi CM, describes India as cultural super power |

| New Delhi: H.E. Lt. General (Retd.) Indonesian Ambassador in India, Mr. Andi Muhammad Ghalib called on Delhi Chief Minister Smt. Sheila Dikshit today in her office at Delhi Secretariat. He was accompanied by his wife and his Press Secretary.
Mr. Ghalib while describing ancient relations between India and Indonesia remembered association of two great leaders Pt. Jawaharlal Nehru and President Sukarno. He described India as a cultural super power where democratic values are being strengthened day by day. He further stated bilateral trade between two countries will cross 10 billion dollar in this financial year.
Mr. Ghalib was also keen to know about the preparedness for the Commonwealth Games. Smt. Dikshit stated that most of the preparations for the Games have been completed though finishing touches are yet to be given. She added that the Games will proves to be a boon for the city and infrastructure which is coming up fast will become an integral part of its legacy.
Mr. Ghalib stated he is impressed with ongoing developmental activities in Delhi. He was also keen to learn about the Right to Information Act and e-governance as his country has been making efforts in this direction.
Smt. Dikshit stated that Delhi was first to introduce its RTI Act though it has become a National Act. She further briefed him about the benefits of e-governance and RTI which have been instrumental in establishing transparency and accountability. |
