Polio campaign in Haryana from Dec 6 to 8

| Chandigarh: As polio campaign begins in Haryana on December 6, 2009 around 26 lakh children between 0 and 5 years will be covered. 13 districts of Haryana will be covered under the Sub-National Intensified Pulse Polio Immunisation (IPPI) round.
The campaign will continue from December 6 to 8.
Haryana's Health Minister Geeta Bhukkal stated that the campaign targets 13 districts of the state including Ambala, Faridabad, Gurgaon, Rohtak, Sonipat and Kurukshetra.
The minister also added that this IPPI round is called for owing to the recent detection of P3 virus in Faridabad district.
Already 650 cases of polio have been reported in India this year. |
