| Mumbai, July 26: This is perhaps one of the kindest gestures that have come from an actor in the recent past. Bollywood actor Paresh Rawal and his wife Swaroop Sampat have taken the pledge to donate their skin. They have signed up to donate the skin in a bid to spread awareness.
Both the actor and his wife have become the brand ambassadors for skin donation awareness to champion the cause of burn victims.
They are associated with the National Burn Institute's (NBI) Skin Bank and have reportedly signed up to donate their skin. According to Dr Shilpa Karnik, Skin donation is done after a person's death.
While explaining the process of skin donation the doctor added that and a retrieval team extracts one eighth of the skin from back.
It is through the brand ambassadorship of Paresh Rawal and his wife and the doctor expects a better creation of awareness about skin donation, which will help the burn patients to get relief from pain and infection. |
