| Srinagar: Three more people have tested positive for the H1N1 virus in Kashmir, while two swine flu patients have recovered, health department officials said here today.
Two students studying outside Kashmir and a local businessman, who had returned to the Valley recently have tested positive for swine flu, said M.A. Wani, director of the state health department.
"These three patients have been quarantined at home on the request of their parents and are now being treated for the HINI virus infection," the official said.
"The family members of the patients have been educated about the protocol and they are being given preventive treatment. There is absolutely no reason for panic," he stressed.
Wani said that two people, who had earlier tested positive for swine flu, had now recovered.
"Two people, an MBA student in Pune and a Delhi-based businessman, had tested positive for the HINI virus after their samples were sent to the National Institute of Communicable Diseases in New Delhi.
"Both of them were home quarantined on the request of their parents and treated with Tamiflu tablets. Both of them have now fully recovered," he said.
The official also dismissed reports that people entering the Valley from outside were not being properly screened.
"We are subjecting every person entering the valley either by air or through the Jammu-Srinagar highway to thorough screening before being cleared to continue their visits here," Wani asserted. (IANS) |
