Delhi allows three private labs to make swine flu tests

New Delhi: The Delhi government today approved of three private pathological laboratories in the city for testing samples for the swine flu virus, said Delhi Health Minister Kiran Walia here today.

"Two high-level committees were constituted by the government for checking and verifying the standards/parameters for private labs for testing H1N1 Virus. After checking and verifying the parameters set for private labs, the committees recommended empanelment of the three private laboratories," Walia said.

The three labs that have been given a go-ahead are Dr.Lal's Lab, Dr. Naveen Dang's Lab and Auroprobe Lab.

"Of the pending reports, 270 reports were cleared today (Tuesday) wherein 41 reported positive. There has been one death reported in Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital," the minister said.

"Of 41 positive cases, eight cases were from Guru Teg Bahadur Hospital, seven cases in Lal Bahadur Shastri Hospital, six cases from Lok Nayak Jaiprakash Hospital, three cases each from Malviya Nagar Hospital and Safdarjung Hospital, two cases from Lady Hardinge Hospital and one each from Hindu Rao Hospital, Army Base Hospital and Deen Dayal Upadhyay Hospital," Walia added.

The total number of admitted cases till date in all designated hospitals are 519. (IANS)
