| New Delhi: Country's main opposition BJP has come down heavily on the Union Railway Minister Mamata Banerjee immediately after she presented the Rail Budget. According to the political party, Ms Banerjee was duping Indian citizens by declaring unapproved projects and also giving priority to non-Railway work including medicine and social welfare.
While talking to the reporters outside the Parliament, BJP Deputy Leader in the Lok Sabha Gopinath Munde asserted that Banerjee's announcements in the Railway Budget are mainly related to activities of other ministries and lacked proper attention on more funds for modernisation projects of Indian Railways.
This is for the second consecutive year that the Railway Minister has to come face-to-face with such a criticism.
Munde also pointed out the fact that last year's budget was also related to establishment of medical colleges and printing presses, which do not come under the responsibility of the railway ministry. The BJP leader further added that Ms Banerjee is not focusing on railway's progress. |
