| Ranchi, Feb 8: The size of Jharkhand's annual plan for 2011-2012 has been reduced by Rs.3,000 crore in the absence of assistance assured by the Planning Commission, a top government official said today.
"The plan size of the state government has been reduced by Rs.3,000 crore as the Planning Commission of India has not sent the money," state Chief Secretary S.K. Chaudhary told reporters here.
For 2011-2012 financial year, Jharkhand had fixed a Rs.15,300-crore plan. It has now been reduced to Rs.12,300 crore.
Chaudhury admitted that Jharkhand will not be able to spend even the reduced plan budget.
"We shall be able to spend Rs.10,000 crore in the current financial year," he added.
In the last ten months, Jharkhand has spent nearly 35 percent of the total planned budget outlay.(IANS) |
