Railway passengers can now book meals online

New Delhi, July 1: Railway passengers now get the privilege of booking their meal along with their ticket. Indian Railways have decided to offer this opportunity to the passengers to make their journey more comfortable.

The 'book a meal' scheme opens before the passengers the option of placing order of their choice when they are reserving berths online on the Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) website.

The food will be served to the passengers after they start off with their journey. Moreover, the payment will be accepted only after the food is served. Pantry car staff on train will exact the amount.

According to the Railway Ministry official, passengers can look forward to be served wide range of delicacies starting from masala dosa to egg and vegetable biryani.

Those who have fully confirmed e-tickets can only avail this facility.
