New Delhi, July 20: Finance Minister and Leader of the House in the Lok Sabha Pranab Mukerjee met opposition leaders L.K. Advani, Sushma Swaraj and Arun Jaitley ahead of the monsoon session of parliament and discussed the constitutional amendments to roll out the Goods and Service Tax (GST) from the next fiscal. "Pranab Mukherjee met our leaders Advaniji, Sushmaji (leader of opposition in Lok Sabha) and Arunji (leader of opposition in Rajya Sabha) today over lunch and the discussion was on GST," Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) spokesperson Nirmala Sitharaman told the media.
Mukherjee is likely to meet state finance ministers on July 21, to discuss amendments needed to roll out GST from the next fiscal. (IANS) |
