| New Delhi: Employees of the publishing firm Penguin will hold special walks in various cities around the world on Friday on the occasion of World Environment Day to support the 'plant a billion trees' campaign of the UN Environment Programme, a spokesperson of the firm said here today.
In the capital, employees of Penguin and sister firm Pearson Education will hold their walk in the historic Siri Fort area. The walk will be led by journalist and writer Sam Miller, whose book "Delhi: Adventures in a Megacity" has been on the bestseller list here for long.
Penguin India is also holding a special sale of its books at discounted prices from June 5-7 at Midlands Bookshop in Aurobindo Place. Part of the proceeds from the sale will be donated to green NGO Kalpavriksh to plant trees in Delhi.(IANS) |
