A.R Rahman wins two Grammy awards, showers gratitude on Twitter |

| New Delhi: India's music maestro A.R. Rahman is riding high on success as he reached another height on Sunday by winning two Grammys at the 52nd Annual Grammy Awards ceremony for his contribution in the film Slumdog Millionaire.
While Rahman received his first Grammy for best compilation soundtrack for a motion picture, he got the second one for Jai Ho, which was chosen the best motion picture song. Rahman shares the Grammy with the renowned lyricist Gulzar who had penned the lyrics of Jai Ho. This is for the first time that Rahman has been nominated for a Grammy.
The elated musician, who is also on Twitter, showered his gratitude to all his well wishers as he thanked, "all my well wishers from the world who keep me going... Jaiho India...!"
In a series of successive tweets, Rahman went on expressing his feeling. He did not forget to mention his "mentors Maniratnam, Shekhar Kapur and Subhash Ghai" in his tweet. Like a perfect team member he congratulated all the other members of his team through one of his tweets, "My whole team, Gulzarji, Sukvinder Singh, Tanvi Shah, Vijay Prakash,My friend and sound engineer the late H Sridhar."
Asserting that he had never dreamt about winning all these awards, Rahman thanked the "the awesome actors in the movie Slum dog Millionaire" and also showered gratitude to his "spiritual Sufi teachers and Ameen Peerullah Malik Sahib."
Rahman's success in Grammy Awards came just after he won two Oscars for his music in Slumdog Millionaire. |
