Indian sportspersons clueless about university confusion

Bangalore: If you think the common students are ruing the fact that the deemed Universities will be de-recognised, think twice. Like other common students, sports celebrities are also under the same trouble as most of them are studying in such deemed universities that have come under the scanner.

Jain University in Bangalore, which has also come under the scanner of of HRD ministry, takes pride in the fact that many Indian sportsperson are among its current students. Pankaj Advani, world professional billiards champion, is among the thousand sportspersons studying here and he is facing an uncertain future although Union HRD Minister Kapil Sibal has assured no loss of the students' career profile.

Besides Pankaj Advani, who is about to appear for his post-graduate examination in business management, cricketer Manish Pandey is also doing his BA in Jain University.

Moreover, National badminton champion Aditya Prakash and Chess grandmaster Ashwin Jayram are also studying BCom in this university. Players of Indian Under-19 cricket squad Mayank Agarwal and Karun Nayar are in the middle of their graduation in Jain University. Most of the players are also representing India in the 2010 Commonwealth Games and now their educational career is left at the mercy of the Ministry.
