Govt teachers to get Eng lessons from British Council |

New Delhi: The British Council in association with Directorate of Education, Delhi Government, will organise a Teacher Development Programme to hone the English communication skills of the government school students. The programme seeks to empower 4000 teachers of English and students of the Delhi government schools with English language skills.
Announcing this on Thursday, Education Minister of Delhi, Arvinder Singh said, "With this programme the last barrier between the students of public and private schools will be removed. Now the students of government schools will be able to compete with the best."
"The programme aims to enhance the English language methodology of the teachers as well as the language proficiency of the teachers and students by training teachers to adapt to the present curriculum and make it more activity based and learner centered," Singh said.
He also said that the city government is committed to provide better facilities to the students to perform optimally and it will make sure that academic, infrastructure and sports facilities are imparted to the each student of Delhi schools. |
