| New Delhi: Six new All-India Institutes of Medical Sciences in Bihar, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Orissa, Rajasthan and Uttarakhand will be ready in the next three years, Union Health Minister Anbumani Ramadoss informed the Lok Sabha today. The Minister made the statement during Zero Hour in the evening when Ram Kripal Yadav (RJD) lamented that a proposed AIIMS in Patna has not yet been constructed. "All I see is the boundary walls," he said.
He said AIIMS in Bihar would not only help people of the state but also residents of Nepal and Assam who lack good healthcare facilities. "In Delhi's AIIMS, most of the patients are from other states," he added. Ramadoss blamed the delay on procedures and problems in tenders but said the institutes in six state capitals will be ready in the next three years. (PTI) |
