Right to Education to be implemented by 2012: Meghalaya minister |

| Shillong, June 4: The Meghalaya Government has itself a deadline of 2012 to implement the Right to Education Act in the state. According to Meghalaya's education minister Ampareen Lyngdoh, the government is working hard on preparing a roadmap for implementing the Act.
The Minister also stated in the assembly that the financial details in this regard are still to be worked upon.
She also added that the salient features of the Act will include adoption of rules for the right of children to free and compulsory education. Moreover, the Act will also include constitution of an authority, which will regulate protection of child rights.
Restructuring number of school days and constitution of a state advisory council are also on cards. Government will give the final approval. |
