Bangalore, July 26: Indian lawyers in the US are up to it and they are making the best use of their adept English to impress the US law firms.

As per the recent reports, some top US law firms are recruiting Indian lawyers to make grammatical corrections in legal contracts prepared by their lawyers. Moreover, a Fortune 100 client of a US law firm, SmithDehn LLP, has categorically called for Indian attorneys' help to correct the mistakes in the drafts. Their help was asked for to conduct legal research, make analysis and write the drafts.

In a recent article issued by American Bar Council Journal, it is clearly stated that the skilled LPO (legal process outsourcing) attorneys in India have been given the responsibility of correcting grammatical mistakes evident in the contracts and drafts at some of the top law firms in the US.

Highlighting the fact that high quality English writing has been out of use in the US for some decades, the article also pointed out that earlier Indian LPO companies were criticized by the US lawyers for drawing off work, but now the time seems to have changed.

It is to be noted that Indian lawyers were accused of using lofty English with convoluted passages and long sentences. According to the CEO of a Mysore-based LPO firm, Indian lawyers never expected that they will be hired to make grammatical and syntax corrections. Their final drafts are being appreciated and their crispy and clear English have made US law firms more dependent on them.
