| Fatehabad (Haryana), July 25: An Indian Air Force (IAF) helicopter made an emergency landing near the fields of Chinder village in Haryana's Fatehabad district today due to a technical snag in the engine, police said. There were no casualties.
"The IAF helicopter had flown from Sirsa and it was scheduled to land at Hindon air force station in Uttar Pradesh," J.S. Lamba, police chief of Fatehabad district, 280 km from Chandigarh, told the media.
Due to a technical snag in the engine, the helicopter had to make an emergency landing here, he said.
"There were two pilots in the helicopter and both of them are safe. Some people of the area panicked initially but police and IAF officials immediately reached the spot and controlled the situation," Lamba said.
IAF officials were checking the helicopter to ascertain the exact reason behind the engine failure. (IANS) |
