Cope India-09, a joint operation of IAF & USAF starts at Agra

Agra: A 5-day joint program named Cope India-09 is going to be started on 19th October. It includes the Indian Air Force and the US Air Force transport aircraft. Almost 160 USAF staff and about 200 IAF persons will play a part in the event.

The IAF squad includes 1 IL-76 Gajraj, 4 AN-32 Sutlej, 2 MI-17 Pratap and 1 Chetak Alouette III aircraft while the US side consists of more than 150 airmen, 3 C-130H Hercules, 1 C-17 Globemaster III along with 1 C-130J aircraft.

Apart from swapping airlift, air land and airdrop delivery techniques, the participants can also take part in aero medical and disaster management work-outs which require medium and heavy lift transport aircraft.
