Antique idols recovered from India-Nepal border |

| Siliguri (West Bengal): At least 24 antique idols of Hindu gods and goddesses were recovered on Wednesday from the India-Nepal Border of West Bengal, officials said.
"The idols, made of black stones, were brought in a white Ambassador car from Raigunge and being taken from near the India-Nepal border in Siliguri sub-division of Darjeeling district," Additional Commissioner of Customs (North Bengal and Sikkim) R. Mangababu said.
He said the idols were worth over Rs.5.3 million and belonged to the eight-12 AD period. (IANS) |
