Woman raped, minor girl molested in capital |

| New Delhi: A woman was allegedly raped after falling unconscious and a six-year-old girl was molested in two separate incidents of sex crimes in the capital, police said today.
"A 24-year-old woman was sexually assaulted by Syed Saamir Ali, 28, resident of Bulandshahr, on March 28. Ali and the woman had met at a mobile repairing shop in Nehru Pace a few days earlier and had become friends," a police official said.
Ali had served the woman cold drinks laced with sedative on March 28 and raped her when she became unconscious.
"A medical examination has confirmed rape and the accused has been arrested," the official added.
In the other incident, 55-year-old Ahmed allegedly molested a six-year-old girl in his house in Ambedkar Nagar on Thursday.
"The girl was playing outside her house and the accused allegedly took her into his house and molested her," a police officer said.
"As she raised an alarm, the neighbours gathered there and Ahmed fled from the spot. A case has been registered and efforts are on to nab him," the police officer added. (IANS) |
