Ruchika molestation case: Rathore's bail plea to be heard today |

| Chandigarh, May 3: A session court in Chandigarh is expected to hear the bail plea of SPS Rathore, the main accused in the Ruchika Girhotra molestation case. He has already received a term of 6 months in jail after being convicted. He has appealed against his punishment as well as conviction.
On 22nd December, 2009 a CBI court sentenced Rathore for molesting the teen aged Ruchika in 1990. Rathore is an IPS officer from the 1965 batch and had gone into retirement in 2002.
Ruchika died on 29th December 1993 after committing suicide. Following this, a couple of criminal cases were filed against Rathore. Subhash Chander Girhotra and Ashu, Ruchikas father and brother respectively, registered cases of attempt to murder, forging of post-mortem reports of Ruchika and wrongful confinement against Rathore. |
